Mammeglio, Shiraz, Montero

Mammeglio is a bold and distinctive expression of Syrah (locally often referred to as Shiraz to emphasize its riper, more international style) produced by the Montero estate in the heart of the Maremma, Tuscany.

While the Maremma is famous for its Bordeaux blends, Syrah has found a spectacular home in its clay-rich, sun-drenched soils, often producing wines that bridge the gap between Northern Rhône complexity and Australian fruit intensity.
